As we get older, certain tasks that we once took in our stride, such as doing the grocery shopping, painting the ceiling and cutting the lawn start to become more difficult. Hedge cutting is one such task that creeps up on us, and suddenly becomes too much work for one person.
Here are Hands on Tree Care We are often called out to the houses of elderly people and people who are less able-bodied, to remove hedges that have become too much. Recently we were called to a house in Sheffield that needed its evergreen hedge removed. Hedges have a tendency to grow vigorously in the late spring and if left unmanaged, can quickly become a problem.
Hedges Are too Much Work For Some People
In this case, the hedge had been managed very well but it was tall, meaning the use of ladders was necessary to manage it. This was something the homeowner no longer felt he could do, and so we were asked to remove the entire hedge.
In addition to the workload, some parts of the hedge were dying back.
Clearing Away The Branches
This job also posed an extra challenge. There was very limited access to the back of the property. So all cut branches had to be taken through the house. As with any job we carry out, the utmost care was taken to prevent any damage to the property. Groundsheets were used internally to protect the floors and walls. When we work exclusively outside we always leave your garden lawn and paths tidy as we found them.
The timber from the tree trunks was logged and left to be used as firewood at the customers’ request.
