This particular Weeping Ash tree was suffering from Ash dieback. It had recently dropped a substantial limb. When trees start to drop limbs they become a potential hazard to people and property. That’s why it’s important to hire fully insured and fully qualified Tree surgeons, like us.
A tree survey was carried out by an arboricultural consultant the decision was made that it should be removed due to the potential future risk of further limb drop.
Sectional Dismantling The Weeping Ash
After carrying out the normal safety procedures, we climbed up into the tree using ropes and pulleys. We began to cut away the topmost boughs of the tree. Working our way from the top of the trunk, we removed the boughs and branches as well as sections of the trunk. Cutting the larger logs into manageable sections and lowering them to the ground with ropes.
The whole process takes the best part of a day.
Once the tree was completely dismantled we loaded up the logs and cleared away all the smaller branches by running them through our shredder. the Chipper/Shredder makes very light work of all woody material such as branches and leaves.
We then used leaf blowers to tidy up the area and remove all the waste from the site before safely re-admitting people to use the space.
It’s such a shame that we’re having to cut down so many old trees, however, the alternative would mean leaving the disease to go unchecked resulting in many dangerous trees and an increased threat to healthy Ash Trees.
