We have a number of customers who give us repeat business, we care for their trees over the years, to ensure that they keep growing in a safe but healthy manner.
During the summer we were invited back to a Chesterfield customer’s property to assess a Cherry tree that we had worked on previously.
Dont Prune Your Cherry Tree too Hard
During our last visit, we pruned the tree quite hard as the customer wanted to ensure plenty of light was coming onto the property. Cherry trees can be quite bushy and block the light. This time, the customer wanted to know if the Cherry tree could be pruned back hard again.
We advised our customer that we would be unable to prune the tree as severely this time, as this could result in its death. These species don’t like to be pruned back too hard. This is why, if you have these trees, it’s better to prune them more regularly, maintaining their growth as you go, rather than trying to remove too many boughs and branches all at one time.
Removing The Cherry Tree
In the end, The customer decided he wanted the tree to be felled. It wasn’t a decision that he took lightly but the tree had grown so large that it was creating too much shade and he needed the area clear so that fencing panels could be replaced.
We cut the tree down in sections, lowering the larger logs to the ground using ladders and ropes. All the smaller branches were then shredded using our chipping machine.
