Crown Thinning Lime Trees In Chesterfield: Hands on Tree Care.
We were asked to carry out Crown thinning on a stand of Lime Trees that were growing on the edge of a Corner property in Chesterfield.
The Three Lime trees had grown very tall, and though Lime trees are amongst some of the most handsome British trees they can have very dense foliage. It’s for that reason that lime trees are popular candidates for heavy pruning such as Pollarding or Crown thinning.
This particular homeowner had recently purchased the house on the corner of the street. They wanted to let more light onto the property and asked us to help by pruning the Limes. After a visit to the property and a chat with the owners, it was decided that the best course of action in terms of tree care would be to carry out crown thinning.
Crown Thinning Lets in more light
As you can see by the second photo after we had removed the lower branches and reduced the density of the canopy light is now flooding into the property and the house and drive have revealed themselves. Before the work was carried out it would have been easy for visitors or prospective buyers to easily miss the house. Now it looks much more cared for.
