Lawson Cypress and Norway Spruce trees in Sheffield, Broomhall – Hands on Tree Care.
Hands on Tree Care were recently called out to Broomhall, Sheffield. This customer had asked us to remove a Lawson cypress and a Norway Spruce tree, approximately 50ft respectively. These trees were originally planted as Christmas trees over 40 years ago. However, the problem with them was that they had outgrown the garden and started causing shading issues for our clients neighbour.
Sheffield Is a Tree Conservation Area
They had grown in a Conservation area, therefore we couldn’t just cut them down. Before the trees could be felled, we needed to submit an application to the Sheffield city council. Once Sheffield city council gave permission for the trees to be felled, due to the trees causing shading issues for the neighbour. We were then able to begin the removal of the offending trees.
Due to the size and how close the trees were to both the customers home and their neighbours home we need to use a technique called sectional dismantling. This is a specialist technique that is carried out by highly skilled staff, the larger branches are removed first, followed by the boughs.
After we have removed the branches, the trunk of the tree is cut into manageable portions that are easy to handle and then are slowly lowered down to reduce risk to the surrounding properties. This is accomplished by using rigging techniques.
